Organize Your Kids’ Rooms for Back-to-School

With three kids and the end of summer, I can’t say their rooms are completely clutter-free, but we’ve learned how to get them organized quickly. Focusing on these 5 areas is a great way to reset at the end of summer, or anytime you feel the need to bring order back into their space.

Sorting and Organizing Toys

Get your child involved in sorting toys into categories. Keep the favorites, and donate or give away the ones that are rarely used.

Refreshing the Bookshelf

Donate or sell books they’ve outgrown. Keep their favorites and new ones to read. Kids can help by sorting by author, book size, or even color—it makes organization fun and personal.

Organizing Art Supplies

Store craft materials in clear bins. Toss anything broken or dried out. A Magnetic Wooden Art Frame is also a great way to display their creations and keep artwork visible. It’s a practical, stylish way to encourage their artistic side , add one to your creative corner!

Closet and Clothing

Sort clothing by size and season. Donate anything too small or never worn. For hand-me-downs, keep a dedicated bin in the closet—when it’s full, label it and store it away.

Building a Weekly Cleaning Habit

Encourage your child to tidy up as they go. Putting things back in place after use helps make cleanliness second nature. As they grow, introduce them to the BlumSpace Cleaning Routine , it’s a simple way to teach daily and weekly responsibility.
